Jolyne Cujoh

Florida, 2011. Jolyne Cujoh is nineteen when one night on a dark road changes everything: a car, a stranger on the asphalt, a boyfriend who swears he'll protect her and then lets her take the fall. The sentence is fifteen years in Green Dolphin Street Prison, a maximum-security fortress surrounded by sea, for a crime she never committed.

She is the daughter of Jotaro Kujo, a father who was never home. On her way to the cells, a pendant he left for her pricks her finger, and something wakes up inside her. Her body starts to unravel into string, thin enough to slip through a keyhole, strong enough to stitch a wound shut or bring an enemy to their knees.

She calls it Stone Free, because she has no intention of drowning in this stone ocean. Behind the bars, the rebellious girl becomes the first woman to carry the name JoJo.
